About Us

Our History

This clinic has been providing safe and compassionate abortion services in Canada for over 40 years. In fact, abortions are possible (and legal) in this country because of the vision, dedication and skill of Dr. Henry Morgentaler and his team. Virtually every abortion facility across the country is guided by the techniques and philosophies developed here.


We offer a wide range of abortion care and related services, including counselling, contraceptive education and testing for sexually transmitted infections (STIs). We are dedicated to respecting your privacy, ensuring your safety and providing you the best possible medical care.


Our clinic perform abortions for women who are approximately 5–19 weeks pregnant. If your pregnancy does not fall within those guidelines, we’ll do our best to help you find the proper resources or refer you to a facility that can accommodate your needs.

At the Toronto Abortion Clinic, we understand that the decision to terminate a pregnancy is very difficult and intensely private; and we respect your right to discreet abortion care services.


We are committed to ensuring that your visit to our clinic is completely private and confidential. We are bound by, and strictly follow, health care privacy laws and all regulations governing patient confidentiality. We do not disclose any information about your visit to anyone without your explicit written consent. 


If you are worried about your family physician seeing the results or medications related to an abortion, notify our admin staff on arrival, and they will have forms for you to fill out that will restrict their access to these records.
